About Coach Seli

Ashley Selman, MA, CSCS, has spent more than 30 years as a strength coach, working with elite athletes including Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Brandi Chastain, collegiate programs at Stanford University and the University of Oregon, and individuals at every fitness level. She was named one of the Top 100 Trainers in the U.S. by Men's Journal and founded Evolution Trainers in Mountain View, California, voted the number one health club in Silicon Valley.

After a hip replacement at 43, Ashley spent years trying to rebuild muscle. She knew exactly what she was doing, and it wasn’t working. That’s when she discovered BFR training — a method she knew from physical therapy settings but had never applied to her own programming.  The results surprised her. She regained strength she hadn’t felt in over a decade, with less pain, more durability, and better endurance. And it all came much faster than expected. In her words, “It was profound. It completely changed how I thought about training.”

She's bringing BFR education to the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and will present the course Coaching Blood Flow Restriction Strength Training: The Future of Fitness. Seli Strength is the program she built around BFR training, first for her own clients and now for the fitness professionals who want to bring it to theirs.
