Hi, I’m Ashley Selman.
I’ve been a strength coach for over 30 years, working with everyone from elite athletes like Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Brandi Chastain, to collegiate programs at Stanford University and the University of Oregon, to people in midlife who simply want to feel strong, steady, and confident again.
I’m the owner and founder of Evolution Trainers in Mountain View, California—voted the number one health club in Silicon Valley—where we’ve built a reputation as one of the Bay Area’s most trusted training platforms for smart, results-driven strength coaching. I was also recognized as one of the Top 10 Trainers in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Chronicle.
I’m also the founder of Seli Strength, a virtual strength program built around one simple idea:

Why I Started Seli Strength
The short version? I needed it.
After decades of training at a high level, I found myself dealing with injuries, chronic pain and eventually a hip replacement. I was doing all the “right” things but felt stuck, dejected and worried about my future health.
During my recovery journey, I discovered Blood Flow Restriction training (BFR), a method long used in physical therapy and medical settings. It allowed me to quickly rebuild my strength and gave me confidence in my body that I hadn't felt in 15+ years, with just light weights, shorter workouts, and far less joint stress.
It didn’t just help me recover.
It completely changed how I thought about training as we age.
As a coach, gym owner, wife, and mom of two, I don’t have time for workouts that beat me up or results that disappear. I wanted something effective, efficient, and sustainable.
So I built it.
Seli Strength is the method I use myself and coach every day. It is designed to help people, especially those in midlife and beyond, build strength, support longevity, and feel powerful in their bodies again.
